Set a manageable daily target

Choose an amount that fits your available time and current level. A smaller target that you can maintain is more useful than an ambitious target that quickly becomes difficult to sustain.

Recite before memorizing

Make sure the passage is being read correctly before trying to memorize it. Tajweed and pronunciation errors are easier to correct before they become habits.

Repeat with attention

Read the selected passage several times while looking, then recite it without looking. Return to the text whenever you notice uncertainty rather than reinforcing a mistake.

Balance new memorization with revision

A strong Hifz routine includes both new material and older portions. Revision protects what you have already memorized and improves confidence.

Track progress

Keep a simple record of what was memorized, what needs revision and which passages require extra teacher correction.

A teacher can listen to memorization, correct recitation, adjust the pace and help maintain accountability. Online one-to-one lessons can make this support accessible from home.
